About Me
Ryan & Melissa Dunlap | Otsego, MN
I was raised by a hard-working, history buff father and a hard-working, tech-savvy mother. Both instilled values of integrity and honesty in me which has helped me tremendously in my personal and professional life.
While in high school, I set the goal of owning my own website design and hosting company with my friends and achieved that goal with a small customer base. I then spent over 20 years in the financial services industry as an analyst, with 8 years of experience as a manager.
At Wells Fargo I took on the task of establishing a new location in Saint Louis, and supervising a staff of 40 in government compliance. I also interviewed and hired management and team lead positions. I set the goal of being the best manager and leader I could be and I worked hard to create an environment where people enjoyed coming to work every day. I accomplished that goal by treating people with respect and holding myself and others accountable. As a result, my team had the highest retention and performance.
Then I returned to the IT infrastructure division in Minnesota, where I managed a team of analysts and I was ultimately responsible for the $3.6B IT Infrastructure budget. The goal was to keep that budget within the required 5% variance, and I accomplished that goal by attaining a 0.2% budget variance.
I met my wife in 2010 and together we built our dream home in Otsego.
In 2022, I was elected to the Otsego City Council and dedicated my time to being an informed leader who fosters transparency and accountability. I have worked hard to reduce unnecessary spending, cut taxes, and improve public safety.
That brings us to today, where I want to continue to serve the broader community that my wife and I love so much.
